    Pushback Rack in Milwaukee, WI

Pushback rack in Milwaukee earns its place when one product line fills several pallets and every extra aisle costs floor you cannot spare. Pallets sit on nested carts riding inclined rails. Load a new pallet and it nudges the previous one back; pull the front pallet and the next rolls forward to the face.

Lanes run two to six pallets deep and work last-in, first-out. We are a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., and the parent company has been supplying and installing rack since 1997. Before anything else, I want to know how many pallets of each SKU you actually hold on a normal week.

Pushback Rack Between Old Columns and Busy Docks

Menomonee Valley plants often have 16 to 24 feet of clear height and columns placed for machinery decades ago. Deep lanes have to land between those columns, so we measure the grid before choosing three-deep or four-deep carts.

Around the Harbor District and Port Milwaukee, many buildings mix raw material receiving with finished goods shipping. Push back racking lets one side of the floor hold deep reserve while forklifts keep a clear path along the dock wall.

Valley and Harbor Floors We Lay Out

Brewing, food and metal fabrication operations near I-94 and I-43 often need deep reserve without giving up receiving space.

How Push Back Racking Holds Pallets Deep

Four decisions shape a lane that your drivers can load all day without fighting the system.

    1

    Count pallets per SKU

A four-deep lane holding only two pallets wastes half its positions. Depth should follow what each item usually stocks, not the peak month.

    2

    Pick cart depth

Two-deep uses a single cart on rails; deeper lanes add nested carts. Every added position raises lane weight and rail length.

    3

    Size beams and frames

Front and rear beams carry the rails, so capacity is figured for the whole loaded lane at each level and printed on load plaques.

    4

    Confirm the truck

Drivers push against the front pallet, so mast height, fork length and approach angle are checked at the highest level.

Quoting a Pushback Pallet Rack Job in the City

Our quote starts with the loaded pallet: footprint, height, heaviest weight and bottom-board direction. Carts are sized to that pallet, and beams and frames are chosen for the total weight a lane carries at each level, not just one load.

If you already run teardrop selective rows, some bays may convert to pushback using frames you own, provided the uprights carry the added capacity. Send a photo of the upright face and any label, and we check before quoting new steel.

Experienced installation crews we schedule and manage set the frames, rails and carts and leave everything anchored to the floor. In winter we plan staging inside the building so components are not stacked at a cold, wet dock door.

Near the 30th Street Corridor we also see dairy and beverage users who want push back racking in a cooler. There, the payoff is less chilled air per pallet, so we weigh lane depth against how often each SKU turns.
